The Banff Film Festival World Tour plays to a sellout crowd at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA every February.

The Banff World Tour brings a variety of the best films from the Banff Mountain Film Festival to 32 countries.

These movies feature extreme mountain sports and high-adrenaline activities. Prepare for a nail-biting experience!

Banff World Tour in Santa Barbara

UCSB’s Arts & Lecture series hosts the Banff Film Festival in Santa Barbara, CA at the Arlington Theater. Each show lasts a little more than 2 hours, and includes one intermission.

The Banff Film Festival has become a perennial favorite with the locals. This event always sells out, so buy your tickets early!

Each performance will feature different films. Excerpts and links for the Santa Barbara shows are listed below. Some of the movies are even available to rent or purchase if you can’t make it to a screening.

More About Banff Mountain Film Festival

The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival is held in Banff, Canada each November. As soon as the week-long event is over, the World Tour committee chooses a wide variety of films to share with its fans around the world.

Host organizations in each tour location choose a program that reflects the interests of their local audiences. Here is a complete listing of Banff Film Festival World Tour films of 2011/12.

There are actually two separate film tours. Most World Tour screenings include a wide variety of films about different topics, from adventure sports to mountain culture and heritage.

The Radical Reels Tour is for audiences who prefer action films only. Showcased films feature only high-adrenaline sports such as kayaking, climbing, skiing, BASE jumping, mountain biking, snow-kiting and speedriding. Santa Barbara is not on this tour.

The Banff Film Festival is a must see for all adventurers out there. Check the Banff World Tour and the Radical Reels Tour schedules to see if one of them is coming to a city near you. Alternately, some of the films are available to purchase or rent. Highly recommended!
