Planning Your Evening

Santa Barbara evenings are usually cool. Bring a jacket and maybe a blanket.

Plan to arrive early; at least 90 minutes before the show begins. You’ve got a 30-minute walk after you park your car to get to your seats. And trying to find a parking place at the last minute is almost impossible. The parking lot fills up early and on-street parking is scarce.

It’s much more relaxing to arrive early. The Bowl is a beautiful place to be at sunset. Plan enough time to enjoy dinner at The Bowl. On-site concessions include all types of cuisine: American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, & Japanese. A variety of beers and local wines are also available on-site. Of course, there’s an ATM on site, for those cash emergencies.

  • All Cameras are prohibited. I almost had my smartphone confiscated the last time I was at the Bowl. So take photos at your own risk.
  • Outside food or beverages are prohibited.
  • Factory-sealed, 1.5-liter bottles of water are permitted
  • Concerts are guaranteed to be over by 10 pm.

About Santa Barbara Bowl

The Santa Barbara Bowl is the largest outdoor amphitheater between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Built in 1936, it was originally designed to serve as a permanent venue for Old Spanish Days festivities. This intimate setting is now a favorite concert venue for both artists and fans.

The Bowl is a relatively small venue, seating only 4569 concertgoers. It’s located in Quail Canyon, a 14-acre canyon chosen for having extraordinary acoustics. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Insiders in the music industry sometimes drive from LA to see their favorite musicians in The Bowl’s more intimate setting.

The Santa Barbara Bowl is a local treasure. It’s worth a trip to Santa Barbara just to see a concert at The Bowl. Check the schedule, find an artist you’d like to see, and buy your tickets today.
